ALFA Chicago completed the ground-up construction of a 90-foot diameter geodesic dome, designed to function as a high-capacity salt storage facility. The structure features a reinforced concrete foundation and a corrosion-resistant steel dome engineered for durability and longevity. A fully integrated, motorized conveyor loading system was installed to streamline material handling and ensure efficient salt distribution during winter operations. This project highlights ALFA’s ability to deliver complex, specialized infrastructure that meets municipal needs while withstanding harsh environmental conditions.
